SlurryBugs is probably the UK’s most well known slurry additive. While the bacteria in SlurryBugs minimize odour and reduce crusting in the store, they are also responsible for capturing nitrogen – that would otherwise be lost to the atmosphere – and converting it into nitrogen. Some farmers have cut their nitrogen use by 70% by making better use of the nutrients contained in slurry treated with SlurryBugs.
